With so many new and different bands and artists trying to make it big every day, it can be difficult to find the true gems worth the time. One emerging band, Peace, is definitely on the rise to fame. The four piece band is comprised of Harry, lead singer and guitarist, and Samuel Koisser, bassist, who are brothers, Douglas Castle, guitarist, and Dominic Boyce on drums. Also, the band has a temporary member, Oliver Henry –who is a dead ringer for a young Mick Jagger-, who is on tour with the group  for the time being replacing Castle for this part of the tour.  The group formed in 2009, in Worcester, England under the original name November and the Criminal. In 2010, they released their self-titled EP. Later on in the year in October, they officially changed their name to Peace after writing new music that had a completely different feel from their first EP, so a change felt necessary.

Now under their updated name, they’ve been named the future of indie rock by The Guardian. Also, The Guardian and NME has compared them to bands like Vampire Weekend and Foals. NME featured Peace in their Ones to Watch in 2012.

The first thing released by Peace was the single “Follow Baby,” in April 2012 There was only 500 7″ vinyl copies released of the song. After that was well received by the public and the critics, Delicious, the four song EP was released on September 7, 2012. It included the “Ocean’s Eye,” “Bloodshake,” “California Daze,” and “1998.” In 2013, the band prepared to release their first full album. Before they did that though, they were nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll, along with artists like Haim, Chvrches, and King Krule.   “Wraith” was released on January 13, 2013. The album, In Love, was released in March debuting at 16 on the UK charts. In Love includes already released songs like “Follow Baby,” “California Daze,” and “Delicious,” which was the retitled from the original “1998.” It also includes other songs, like “Float Forever” and “Higher than the Sun.” The band is currently touring with the Irish trio, Two Door Cinema Club. They’re opening along with the band St. Lucia, for the remainder of the US leg of the tour. They were most recently in Chicago on October 19, where they performed a short set of a selection of songs from In Love.

Peace brings something truly different to the music scene. While they may be compared to the some of the bigger indie bands, they are unique from these other bands. Peace already has a large following in the UK, and slowly emerging into the US music scene.
