The reason that Taylor re-released these albums was because her first six albums were recorded under the same label that had claimed ownership of all of her songs and wasn’t allowing her to use her music in as many ways as she would have liked to.
On April 9, 2021, singer songwriter Taylor Swift released a re-recorded version of her 2008 album Fearless. She continued to release re-recordings since then for her album Red, Speak Now, and 1989.
Taylor only has two albums left to re-record: Reputation and her self titled debut album, Taylor Swift.
Most Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, believe that Taylor will re-release Reputation next. Many speculate that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) will come out this year but that hasn’t always been what people thought.
The most popular and first theory was that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) would be announced on November 10, 2023 based on easter eggs hidden in music videos and the font from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) seemed to make the shape of a snake, the symbol of Reputation, followed by the number 10.
When November 10 came and went, Swifties started thinking of a new theory. Lots of fans thought that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) would be released without an announcement on New Year’s because she has a song on Reputation called “New Year’s Day” and because at midnight her documentary about her Reputation tour would be leaving Netflix.
Swift’s album has still not been announced and Swifties are getting desperate. The most believed theory now is that Swift will announce her Reputation album on February 10, 2024 combining both of the previous theories in a way. February 10 is the Lunar New Year and it falls on the 10th day of a month, bringing in the ten from the font of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and the New Years theory, just on a different New Years. Swift also has a show that day in Tokyo, Japan, making it very likely for her to announce then.
Sadly, Swifties are almost never right when it comes to trying to figure out any of Swift’s easter eggs. While this theory may seem likely, Swift likes to mess with her fans and has said before that she will sometimes hide fake easter eggs to throw Swifties off track.
Whether Taylor re-releases Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in two weeks or two months, the album is guaranteed to be her most listened to album because of its immense popularity among fans. Hopefully Swifties realize that instead of theorizing and impatiently waiting for Reputation (Taylor’s Version) to come out, they should appreciate her re-records that are still relatively new like 1989 (Taylor’s Version) which came out October 27, 2023 or Speak Now from July 7, 2023.
