Almost everyone these days has a smartphone and are worried about dropping it and breaking it. That’s why people spend so much money on phone cases. Senior, Greta McGuire has made a new business of taking phone cases and painting custom designs on them for a small price of $12-$15.
These phone cases have usually been famous works of art. Most by Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet, but they are not limited to those artist. They are hand painted by McGuire herself using a combination of nail polishes and holding it together with mod-podge.
It all started when McGuire had a blank phone case and painted “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh for herself. People admired her work, and they started asking her for some for themselves. She has painted various album covers, albums, or just pictures off of the internet.
“I just painted a case for myself once because I didn’t want to pay $20 for a pretty looking case. People saw it and them more and more of them wanted me to make a custom one. I like doing them because it is a way to improve on my art abilities. It is also just nice to know that someone likes your work enough to pay for it,” says Senior, Greta McGuire.
The cases that McGuire creates are high quality. All customers have been extremely satisfied by the work that she puts in with her nail polish brushes. It really demonstrates the artistic talent that McGuire has.
