On January 7th 11 new proposals were brought up at the IHSA (Illinois High School Association) meeting.
Out of the eleven proposals, #7, which dealt with transfer students and sports. Starting on July 8th, the one-year period of ineligibility for a transfer student enrolling in his or her home boundaries public school is now removed.
This could possibly change the amount of transferred students to West, along with the possible amount of talent that is on a sports team at Joliet West.
Another new thing in IHSA is that the week that includes July 4 a “dead week” during which coaches may have no contact with athletes during the summer contact period; does not apply to summer baseball and softball.
With all these new proposals, Joliet West should become a more successful with their sport teams.
