With only a week left in the season many teams are pushing for postseason spots. The regular season has been nothing but entertaining and many fans are eager to see how the standings pan out. There have been some surprise teams this year including teams like the Cubs and Orioles who are having major seasons with win total and player statistics. As for others, this season has not been so pleasant. The cardinals, who used to be big competitors in the NL central division, are having a poor season and their season will not extend past early October when the regular season games end.
The big name teams like the Dodgers, Brewers, and Braves have been leading their divisions the majority of the season. As well as the Orioles and Rays fighting for first place in the AL East. Teams are also now calling up prospects to give them a taste of what major league play is like. The Cubs called up their top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was acquired in the Javier Baez trade from a couple seasons ago. The Yankees called up exciting young prospect Jasson Dominguez but his time was cut short due to a UCL injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. Dominguez will be out for 10-12 months because of this injury. Only time will tell to see how the playoff picture shakes out.
